The Voice of Integrity and Foundation
“The Golden Voice of Africa, a foundational statesman, and a teacher at heart. Before he guided Nigeria through the dawn of independence as its first Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa was an educator, deeply rooted in the values of discipline, character, and public service. He understood that a newly independent nation could only stand if built on a rock-solid educational foundation. His administration prioritized the establishment of Nigeria’s earliest post-secondary institutions, including the University of Ibadan as a full-fledged university and the University of Lagos. For his spotless integrity, his foundational leadership, and his belief that education is the ultimate tool for sovereign dignity, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa is posthumously inducted into the Education Hall of Fame.”
